  • Name of business  Splash Art by Ben
  • Who are you?  My name is Ben Ashford, I am an artist from Cheshire and created ‘Splash Art by Ben’ in 2016.
  • What sets you apart from the competition?   I produce unique, bespoke pieces; tailored to your decor themes, business logos, specific colours and even including your own personal touches. I can create something special for you or your business with an exciting artistic flare.
  • How did the business come about?  It all started with the desire to produce a bright and colourful piece of art for my own home; I decided to splash paint in various directions onto Perspex but had no idea how effective and modern it would look. Since then I have explored creative avenues, with effective results, by combining different mediums in my pieces such as vinyl, thread and metal.  I come from an artistic background, studying art at school helped me realise that art and creativity are passions of mine; this led to me spending 8 years working in the graphic design industry. I gained valuable experience and the confidence to branch out into this new business venture.
  • What are your main target markets?  My target market is corporate businesses who are looking to brighten up their office space with exciting and modern art. I also produce a lot of my work for homes, apartments and studios matching existing colour themes around the home.
  • How long has your business been in existence?  My business started in 2016 when I created a piece of art for my own home and share the results on social media. I was inundated with messages and knew from that moment I had something special.
  • How many staff do you employ?  I produce, network, market, fit and design every aspect of the business myself. I work extremely hard to make sure that the art I produce is of your exact specification as well as adding my own artist flare to create something special for your business or home.
  • What job or achievement makes you most proud?  Every piece of art I display makes me incredibly proud knowing my work will be enjoyed for many years to come
  • Where do you see the business being in five years?  In the next five years I plan on opening my own gallery in local area and continue growing my client portfolio. So far I have my art in 12 different countries around the world including the UK, USA, France, Italy, Sweden and many more. I would like to continue my international growth and become a know artist in the corporate world.
  • Why Warrington?  I have lived and worked in Warrington all my life and although I love to travel, Warrington will always be my hometown.
  • Tell us one interesting thing about you that people might not know? (ie, hobbies, amusing fact, etc)  I left school at 16 worked, 3 jobs for 3 years and bought my first house at 19. I then took the whole house back to brickwork and rebuilt it learning how to plaster, plumb, tile, paint ect. I then used this knowledge to start my own handy man businesses making over 20k in 12 months as well as holding up a full time job. I am a strong believer in anything is possible if you work hard.
  • Fantasy dinner party – which six people alive or dead would you invite?  I am a massive Springsteen fan so Id have Bruce Springsteen and the E street band around the dinner table
