Meet the Member - Emily Crossley from Lindstrom Group

  • Name of Business? Lindstrom.  
  • Who are you? Textile Rental Service – Workwear & Wiper rental service. 
  • What sets you apart from the competition? Over 170 years of experience with unique service elements unavailable from the competition.
  • How did the business come about? Over the course of Lindström’s history, the company has grown from a fabric dyeing house into a laundry and onwards to become a professional in textile renting. The family-owned business with a history dating back more than 170 years has been among the pioneers of its field throughout the years of its operation.
  • What are your main target markets? Packaging, Manufacturing, Waste, Construction, print, engineering, automotive….and many more! 
  • How long has your business been in existence? Over 170 years. 
  • How many staff do you employ? Over 160. 
  • What job or achievement makes you most proud? The achievement of continuous growth amongst lindstrom, which has brought together employees from across the country to work and strive towards the same goal. 
  • Where do you see the business being in five years? We will have continued our strong annual growth so will have many more customers and garments in circulation.  On top of this the level of integration in our customers’ and suppliers’ ecosystems will be huge and supported by exciting new technologies currently being developed. 
  • Why Warrington? Warrington has seen success with ongoing business investments, and is the home of major companies and brands which has contributed to the development of the town. The development of the Omega and Birchwood Park business parks have also contributed to the growth, and makes this opportunity extremely appealing for a company like ourselves who are targeting growth.  
  • Tell us one interesting thing about the business that might surprise us? Lindström has been in the sustainable circular-economy business for 170 years, long before it became part of the wider business consciousness.  We currently recycle 88% of our textiles and aim to improve this by 2020. 
  • Tell us one interesting thing about you that people might not know? I’m a massive Manchester City fan. 
  • Brexit – good, bad, opportunity? Brexit has brought challenges with our supply chain, but Lindström operates in 24 countries worldwide, many of which are outside of the EU trading block so these are not insurmountable.  The knock-on effect to our customers remains to be seen. 
  • Fantasy dinner party – which six people alive or dead would you invite? Emmeline Pankhurst, Noel Gallagher, Danny Boyle, Alex Ferguson, Peter Done and Jenny Campbell.
