  • Who are you?    Managing Director, and External FD for a number of our clients.  
  • What sets you apart from the competition?    We are passionate about what we do and how we do it. There is no better feeling than receiving some amazing feedback from a client. Everyone in the firm shares the same ethos and we strive to deliver the best we can be for our clients. We see ourselves as an extension of our client’s business. We share the ups and downs of our client’s businesses, we see it as a genuine partnership. We have over the years waived or reduced client’s fees to help in difficult times. Our family approach has paid huge dividends for the practice as we have experienced considerable growth over the last 5 years. Our flexible Know, Like and Trust approach allows us to supply a full suite of services to clients.     
  • How did the business come about? How long has your business been in existence?    In its original form, the accountancy service from our offices in Sale have been offered since the early 90’s. I joined the firm at this time and took over as Managing Director in 2001. We opened our Warrington office in 2015.
  • What are your main target markets?    We work with SME businesses and regulated clients in a range of sectors including construction,  manufacturing, professional services, property investment and childcare. Our clients are based mainly in the North West, we however provide services to clients across the UK.

  •  What job or achievement makes you most proud?  Receiving regular testimonials, LinkedIn recommendations and Google Reviews from clients on the levels of service the team provide. With LWA my aim is to make clients feel that their business is valued, that they’re being listened to and getting advice that is timely and relevant. This means they’re a happy client and happy clients tell me we are doing a great job!    
  • Where do you see the business being in five years?    Our growth across the region from referrals and recommendations is continuing at a steady pace, resulting in the growth of our team. We’re looking forward to expanding our presence in Warrington by recruiting from the local area and taking more office space.
  • Why Warrington?    Being a Warrington resident and knowing the thriving business community here as well as the investment plans for the town made it an obvious choice to open our Birchwood Park office in 2015. Since that point it’s been quite evident that we made a great decision. The opportunities on Birchwood Park, through our player sponsorship and partnership with Warrington Wolves, and through organisations such as The Business Exchange have proved great for raising the profile of LWA.
  • Tell us one interesting thing about the business that might surprise us?    I’m proud of my colleagues and value their contribution to the business. That is why each and every colleague gets a day off work on their birthday in addition to their annual holiday!
  • Tell us one interesting thing about you that people might not know? (ie, hobbies, amusing fact, etc) Whilst my everyday attire is a professional suit, many people won’t know that I’m also a keen off-road biker having recently completed part of the Trans Euro Trail (TET) in the Pyrenees down to Aragón.  
  • Brexit - good, bad, opportunity?    Whether you are pro or remain, both sides agree the current uncertainty is not good for business. Business hates uncertainty and this is beginning to filter into the SME market affecting confidence. Recent announcements of job loss will only further serve to make owners nervous. We need certainty and we need it quickly.
