Who are you? The UK’s most read national daily newspaper. Every day of the working week Metro publishes concise, relevant and engaging content, presented in a visually appealing, well-designed fashion. It remains a sought-out product for all the latest news, sport, entertainment and daily features which focus on food, travel, fashion, technology, film, music and so much more.

• What sets you apart from the competition? The ability to reach a cash rich, time poor urban audience who traditionally do not read newspapers.

• How did the business come about? Identified a gap in the market for a newspaper aimed at a young, urban commuting audience who did not traditionally read a paper in the mornings. The key to Metro’s continued success is the newspapers ability to supply the right product, at the right time, in the right place to the right people.

What are your main target markets? Urbanites – Adults aged 18 – 44 in full time employment

• How long has your business been in existence? Metro was launched March 1999 in London initially distributing 280,000 copies, it now distributes over 1.4 million in 52 cities across the UK.

What job or achievement makes you most proud? Vice chairman of the Tranmere Rovers former player foundation

• Why Warrington? Warrington is home to a vibrant mix of commercial and industrial companies within an excellent location
