Meet the Member - Paul Miller - The Inspection Manager

Name of Business? TIM the ‘Inspection Manager’

Who are you? Digital reporting app developers; eliminates paper-based inspections. Allows businesses to complete audits, surveys and site inspections, using smart phones or tablets. Instantly converts the data into a PDF. Available for iOS, Android & Windows 10 devices.

What sets you apart from the competition? Industry recognition always helps. We won the ‘UKWA Technical innovation of the year award’ (United Kingdom Warehousing Association)

How did the business come about? 2 guys sat in a coffee shop, 1 a very clever programmer, the other liked to talk about the very clever and easy to use apps, the programmer/s had developed.

What are your main target markets? Construction & Property & Facilities Management, Warehousing & Logistics

How long has your business been in existence? 10 years

How many staff do you employ? 8

What job or achievement makes you most proud? All of it, getting through the first 2 years mainly, and building a client base of circa 600

Where do you see the business being in five years? Double the size, increasing our client base to 1200 using the TIM apps to record the data. Our latest product specifically targets the Warehousing - Logistics sector.

Why Warrington? I live in Appleton which helps. Main reason Warrington has as many Construction, Warehouse/Logistics & Property/Facilities Management companies as anywhere else, outside of London.

Tell us one interesting thing about the business that might surprise us? We have had to date 3 offers for our company name ‘TIM’ (it’s not for sale)

Tell us one interesting thing about you that people might not know? (ie, hobbies, amusing fact, etc) I believe the universe is teaming with life; I also believe our government and others already know this; (Close Encounters is based on such a meeting)

Brexit – good, bad, opportunity? Any type of opportunity is good, so good.

Fantasy dinner party – which six people alive or dead would you invite? That’s easy; Gregory Peck; Martin Luther King; Robin Williams; Lionel Messi; Vladimir Putin; JK Rowling;
