Meet the Member - Steph Scully from Home-Start Warrington

  • Name of Business  Home-Start Warrington 
  • Who are you?  Steph Scully, Office Manager 
  • What sets you apart from the competition?  We are a leading Family Support Charity in Warrington, support is provided by trained parent volunteers. 
  • How did the business come about?  A local Health Visitor recognised a gap in support for families in 1999, so a steering group was set up.  
  • How long has your business been in existence?  We celebrate 20 years in Warrington this year. 
  • How many staff do you employ?  We have 8 part time staff 
  • What job or achievement makes you most proud?  I help the office to run smoothly and efficiently. I support the staff and respond to both families and volunteers on the phone or by visits to the office.
  • Where do you see the business being in five years?  Depends on funding, but we aim to do more of the same! Doing what we do well, supporting families in Warrington, with young children with the help of parent volunteers. 
  • Why Warrington?  We are funded to support families in the whole borough of Warrington 
  • Tell us one interesting thing about the business that might surprise us?  We are 20 years old! 
  • Tell us one interesting thing about you that people might not know? (ie, hobbies, amusing fact, etc)  Me, my hubby and eldest daughter run the English 10k in Warrington in September, to raise funds for our charity. 
  • Brexit – good, bad, opportunity?  Unsure how it would affect us, if at all. 
  • Fantasy dinner party – which six people alive or dead would you invite?  Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Morrissey, My husband, Myself, Dianne Oxberry
