Name of Business: Ignite Your Talent Limited

• Who are you? A small (as in me!) but great HR & Talent consultancy. For INDIVIDUALS, building trust and establishing a good honest and open working relationship is key when engaging in a one on one relationship with my clients, that way we can get to the heart of any challenges and work together via coaching and mentoring to unlock potential and drive success - both personally and in the work environment. For COMPANIES, I partner with clients to understand their business strategy and associated HR and people challenges.  The ability and experience to quickly understand the culture and values of the organisation enables me to deliver expert, creative and commercial options in all HR and people areas.

What sets you apart from the competition?  I have over 25 years of coaching and mentoring experience, and a passion for working with people on a one-to-one basis, supporting them to unlock their potential and be their best. My qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience, along with my ability to really understand individuals earned me the nickname of ‘People Ninja’ - a name that I’m proud to be associated with! In my past corporate life and previous HR Director role, I was responsible for all people areas and I am keen to provide a service that is able to cut through red tape and give clear, concise and credible support for real life situations regarding all people related matters in your business.

• How did the business come about?  I got brave. I’d wanted to have my own business for a long time and it got to the stage where it was now or never so I went for it and haven’t looked back since!

• What are your main target markets?  With coaching, it ranges from working with company directors and executive business coaching (with big companies such as Arriva, Intu Trafford Centre but also with SME Owners and Directors too) through to personal coaching with individuals who know that they want to create their best life, but aren’t sure where to start or what to do next.  With HR consultancy, it is usually companies that have 50+ members of staff and I mainly get involved with support on writing people and talent strategies, leadership development and people engagement.

• How long has your business been in existence? Since June 2017.

• How many staff do you employ? Just me, although I do get my son to make me the (very!) occasional cup of tea.

• What job or achievement makes you most proud? I’ve had big corporate roles that I’m proud of and worked hard to get, but I’m actually most proud of what I’m doing now.  It can be challenging sometimes, especially the new business side which is totally outside of my comfort zone, but I’m building my own network, getting referrals and it’s therefore become more about connecting and enjoying getting to know people (one of the main reasons I joined WBex). I know I’m giving value and making a difference to my clients and I get a massive buzz and am very proud of that!  I love the freedom to live and work in my way, with my values and decisions on how to take the business forward

• Where do you see the business being in five years? To be honest, I’m really not sure, I can see a lot of potential and I still have a lot of ambition, but I also like having the flexibility of working to suit my lifestyle too.  Who knows where my journey will take me, but it’s keeping me busy and on my toes which I love!

• Why Warrington? Prior to setting up Ignite Your Talent, I commuted to Oxford and stayed down there for a couple of nights each week due to the fact that  CPM’s HO was based there.  It’s a real relief to avoid the M6 and to not to have to do the journey every week now and as I’m from Warrington it was the obvious place - central location and great access to all of the motorways, plus Northern people are generally more approachable and friendly!

• Tell us one interesting thing about you that people might not know? (ie, hobbies, amusing fact, etc) Mmm, gosh I don’t know, I love hot yoga and I can hold a headstand for 5 minutes?!

• Brexit – good, bad, opportunity?  Nightmare!

• Fantasy dinner party – which six people alive or dead would you invite? JK Rowling, Michelle Obama, Rebel Wilson, Buddha, Graham Norton and Ryan Reynolds.
