Charity Rounders Championship

Chester-based law firm Aaron & Partners has raised hundreds of pounds for a good cause after hosting a rounders championship that saw its legal experts face off against other professionals.

The firm hosted its Charity Rounders Championship to raise funds for The Hospice of the Good Shepherd, a charity specialising in palliative care and bereavement counselling.

The event came as part of the hospice’s Corporate Challenge 2023, which saw businesses launch their own fundraising campaigns with a £50 budget.

Entering the tournament alongside Aaron & Partners were leading Chester firms including Empire Commercial Finance, Legat Owen, Handelsbanken, RB Surveyor Services and Bennett Brooks, with Champion Accountants emerging victorious.

The money raised will help The Hospice of the Good Shepherd sustain its day-to-day operations, helping individuals and their families living with life-limiting illness.

Hosted in partnership with Chester Boughton Hall Cricket Club, the event was organised by Ella Mooney, a Trainee Solicitor at Aaron & Partners.

Ella said: “Our team had a fantastic time planning this event, and it’s great to see it turn into a huge success.

“The team at The Hospice of the Good Shepherd do incredible work helping families at their time of need, and we’re proud to support such a worthy cause.

“The turnout on the day was brilliant, and we’re pleased that we have doubled our target, with nearly £500 raised. We’d like to thank everyone who came along and made it a memorable evening.”

The event followed a series of fundraisers hosted by Aaron & Partners for The Hospice of the Good Shepherd, which was last year selected as one of the firm’s charity partners.

Alan Knell, Philanthropy and Relationship Manager at Hospice of the Good Shepherd, said: “We are delighted to see the Aaron & Partners rounders tournament was such a huge success, it was very special to see so many local businesses coming together to support their local Hospice and community, whilst having a fantastic evening of fun!”
