The Apprenticeship Levy is payable by all companies with a payroll in excess of £3m. However, almost half of organisations do not fully utilise their apprenticeship levy balance. Known as co-investment, unused levy may be used by ANY organisation to fund valid apprenticeships for only 5% of the cost of the apprenticeship, and for FREE if the employer has 50 employees or less.
