labdesk at Birchwood Park

  • The Park’s impressive Nuclear cluster and engineering communities were key factors behind the move
  • Birchwood Park, the North West’s largest out-of-town business destination, delighted to welcome Cloud and technology service provider labdesk.

labdesk deliver a range of cloud, cyber security and IT services to businesses operating in various sectors, specialising in supporting those working in the nuclear, aerospace and science sectors.

Founded by the experienced team of Mike Douglass and James Rooney in Warrington, labdesk has partnered with tech giant Microsoft to help their customers get more out of technology, boost productivity and accelerate growth.

Taking up occupancy in one of the Park’s small-suite spaces, the offices are ideal for growing businesses looking to expand their team in the coming year, giving the likes of labdesk the freedom to move quickly to suit the business needs - as they are not immediately tied in with a long lease.

The labdesk team is already enjoying the amenities, such as the EngineRooms, as well as further networking opportunities to meet and liaise with like-minded occupiers based on the Park.

Birchwood Park’s impressive roster of science and engineering businesses includes a world class nuclear cluster, that boasts the likes of Cavendish Nuclear, Jacobs, Nuvia and Rolls-Royce – providing great community and networking opportunities for the sector.

Mike Douglass, labdesk Co-Founder commented: “Birchwood Park was an obvious choice for relocating one of the company’s key hubs, with its impressive list of businesses providing clean energy and engineering services.

“An added bonus for me is that I live in the local community and spend a lot of time here with my young sons during the weekends, as the Park has lots of family-friendly spaces, greenery, and pathways to walk and enjoy.”

Martin O’Rourke, Commercial Director at Birchwood Park, added: “We are delighted to welcome labdesk to Birchwood Park. This is a testament to the Park's appeal, following Scientific Consultancy, Quintessa's recent relocation to 401 last December, as well as Galliford Try earlier in Q4.

Underlining Birchwood Park's commitment to sustainability and workplace wellbeing, Martin emphasised the alignment of labdesk's values with the Park's own: "labdesk's new office has been created with flexible working in mind, providing both current and future staff the opportunity to benefit from adaptable working hours.

“Additionally, labdesk staff can take full advantage of versatile meeting and co-working spaces in the EngineRooms, ensuring the evolving needs of staff can be consistently met."

Linda Welsby, Leasing Manager at Birchwood Park added: “We’re delighted to welcome labdesk. It’s clear that North West businesses are looking forward with positivity, given the influx of enquiries we’ve experienced on the Park, but being able to offer flexibility and various on-site services is what helps ease the move and encourage businesses, like labdesk, to move to Birchwood Park. We look forward to supporting them here with their continuous growth.”
