A team of sporting solicitors from Cheshire-based law firm, Aaron & Partners, hosted an early-evening rounders tournament alongside seven other businesses in aid of local charity The Hospice of the Good Shepherd.
The fundraiser brought together teams from a range of industries across the city, with Handelsbanken, Savills, Empire Global Finance, BA Commercial, Champion Accountants, Armstrong B2B, and Watkins Jones Group taking part in the event.
The sun was shining for the tournament at Chester Boughton Hall Cricket Club, and although Aaron & Partners did not walk away with the trophy, substantial funds were raised for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd with over £400 set to be donated to the charity.
Helen Johnson, Head of Marketing and Business Development, said: “It’s been a real summer of sport in 2024 with everything from the Olympics and Euro 2024 to the Tour de France and Wimbledon. We wanted to get involved in that and bring together some other local companies to enjoy an evening of rounders while raising money for a fantastic cause.”
The Hospice of the Good Shepherd provides specialist palliative care for individuals across Cheshire, South Wirral, and North Wales, making a significant difference in the lives of those facing life-limiting illnesses. The funds raised from this event will further support the hospice's vital work, ensuring that they can continue to offer compassionate care to those in need.
Alan Knell, Philanthropy & Relationship Manager at the Hospice of the Good Shepherd said: “Thank you to all the team at Aaron & Partners for once again organising such a spectacular rounders tournament for the Hospice. It’s been a huge success and thank you to all the businesses that took part in the tournament and supported the Hospice, helping to raise a fantastic amount of money for the Hospice.”
“It was wonderful to see so many local businesses come together for a cause that touches so many lives in our community,” Helen added.
“We’re proud to have contributed to the success of the event and to have supported the hospice in their invaluable work. We’ve been working really closely with the team there on a number of initiatives in recent months, providing support as part of our commitment to our local community. We have lots more planned too.”
