Get ready

As we approach the end of lockdown and move to a new normal, is your business ready for the possibility of more flexible working requests?

Homeworking has offered many benefits to employees, including a better work/life balance and a reduction in the weekly commute. However, the physical workplace can still be important for collaboration, morale and personal wellbeing.

With more employees now favouring a greater degree of homeworking, some employers have proactively embraced the need for greater flexibility post-COVID, but others haven’t. This may be due to the nature of the operation, or a more traditional outlook regarding working practices.

Employers need to be aware that employees with at least 26 weeks’ continuous service have a legal right to request more flexible working, whether that be a reduction or change in the hours they work, or working some or all of their hours from home.
