· Name of Business
Cheshire Outdoors Corporate
· Who are you?
Anita Morris - Psychologist / Wellbeing Coach
· What sets you apart from the competition?
We have a proven track record in delivering exceptional development interventions; wellbeing interventions, executive coaching and corporate fun days for businesses from SMEs to large multinationals. Our team include highly experienced business psychologists, ex-army leadership specialists and expert falconers. What makes us really different is that we deliver our tailored interventions within our stunning site which boasts 15 acres of private woodland and often in the company of our specially trained birds of prey.
· How did the business come about?
The business started out as a falconry delivering experiences to the general public. Over 17 years ago we started working with a team of business psychologists delivering management and leadership development. The business has now grown to include falconry, segway, archery, rifles, low ropes, axe throwing and many more outdoor activities.
· What are your main target markets?
We work with companies from SMEs to multinationals and would like to do more work with larger companies, larger charities and blue light services.
· How long has your business been in existence?
We have been in existence for over 25 years.
· How many staff do you employ?
We employ a very small core team of 4, plus our psychologists, coaches and leadership specialists who work on an associate basis.
· What job or achievement makes you most proud?
That’s a difficult one as there are quite a few. As a psychologist and coach, I have changed lives and saved lives. I have delivered interventions where an autistic adult has spoken for the first time; a CEO who was struggling in her role later became the head of a national body and gained international recognition; a young man who was suicidal is now thriving, learned to drive, got his own home and got an amazing job.
· Where do you see the business being in five years?
Doing more of the same with a bigger team, we love what we do.
· Tell us one interesting thing about the business that might surprise us?
I was invited to talks (and attended!) about leadership development at the UN in New York.
· Tell us one interesting thing about you that people might not know? (ie, hobbies, amusing fact, etc)
As a child I briefly lived on a Scottish Island with one house on it that is now home to a cult.
· Fantasy dinner party – which six people alive or dead would you invite?
Lewis Capaldi (I’m going to adopt him)
Bez (He’s really into nature and keeps bees)
Florence Nightingale (like me she had a tiny owl that went everywhere with her)
Nims Purja (mountaineer and former Ghurkha)
Maxine Peake (I’m sure has a lot to say)
Maura Jackson (charity CEO, homelessness advocate and stand-up comedian)
