Watsons Nov 23

With more than 18 years’ experience, she joins the private client division, which specialises in administration of estates, court of protection, lasting power of attorney, and trust advice.

Brought on board to help departmental team members Alex Mitchell and Kristel Clarke manage an increase in new clients, Jennifer is ready for the fresh challenge.

She said: “I’ve previously spent my entire career with one firm, and I live in Warrington in the same house I grew up in, so this is the biggest change I’ve had outside of getting married and having children.

“It’s an exciting time to be making the move to Watsons, especially as I know of the reputation it has around the town for both the quality of its work and how it treats clients and staff.”

The chance to join the Cheshire-based law firm came about courtesy of a long-standing relationship with Alex.

Jennifer, who studied law at Leeds Beckett University, continued: “I’ve known Alex for a long time, but hadn’t seen her that often since we played hockey together as teenagers about 25 years ago.

“We then started playing for a local ladies football team and saw each other at St Rocco’s Will Week launch, and it was a subsequent conversation around work that sparked the move to Watsons.”

Following the completion of her degree, Jennifer attended Chester’s College of Law, before combining private client work and conveyancing at her first firm.

It is a passion for helping people and a varied day-to-day workload that saw Jennifer focus on wills and probate.

She added: “I’ve always found that area of law interesting and it’s hugely satisfying when you write a will for someone and, when they are no longer with us, it is carried out how that person intended.”

Partner and fellow member of the private client department, Alex is thrilled to have Jennifer as part of her team.

She said: “It’s wonderful to have someone I’ve known for a long time come and join us at Watsons.

“Working in the town you find out who the best solicitors are, and Jennifer comes with an impressive reputation.”

Watsons Solicitors, which has been established for more than 60 years, specialises in family lawemployment law, wills and probate, and conveyancing.
